Well it has been a long time since my last blog entry so I thought that it was due. As far as going to church I am still going for now. My daughter and I were baptized on "All Saints Day" which somehow seemed like a good idea. We were the only ones, my daughters little friends who started up all of the "baptism" stuff, were no where to be found. Oh well I guess they just brought us to this place and headed off in another direction. What is that saying about people being in your life for a purpose? As of this writing the male reverend left about 3 months ago to care for his ailing father and never returned. Our remaining reverend, the woman, is due to leave in 2 weeks for another parish. I am so bummed out about that and am not sure if I am going to keep attending once she leaves. We made a real connection. My SO says that I shouldn't be attending church because of the reverend but I was really connected to her and I like the direction that she was taking with the church. The new reverend is a woman too but it wasn't just being a female that connected me to our current reverend it was that we came from the same place and have a lot in common. I guess we will see what happens.
I have started reading "Conversations with God" again. Maybe I will actually make it through this time... I like the way that "God" is presented here. It seems a much more reasonable approach, makes more sense, and I don't actually balk at everything that is said like I do with some other religious books... I still keep the Goddess in my heart as well although I know that all of these words and titles are just small attempts to put title to the unfathomable light/energy/love that is the Universal Conciousness.
I am reading/skipping through another book called "The Twelfth Planet" which is very interesting. It links a lot of the "creation" story with translated texts from the ancient Sumerian culture. It basically says that we were created by aliens as a slave labor force here on earth...do I hear Scientology calling? It is interesting though and I like the way that the writer has woven things together. If what he says is indeed the case then we seem to have run them off and truly become the Wolfling clan. I kind of like that...Wolfling Clan. If you want more info on that reference read "The Uplift Wars" by: David Brin. Anyway I will try to keep up a little better and get some decent graphics on my page soon.
Love and light fellow travelers...

My Sacred Journey
Hello to anyone who might read this blog... I am not inviting anyone as this is mostly just for me but if anyone stumbles across this then welcome. To give a little background on my spiritual life, well, I started out on the religious road due to my mother who of course never went to church that I remember. She thought that I needed a religious upbringing, and the majority religion in the state that I was living in, to grow up properly. I went to that church until I was 15 or so and then decided that it wasn't for me. I spent the next 10-15 years avidly avoiding any kind of church except for the occasional "Easter" service. I had a small "looking for my religious match" revival around the age of 22 or so but it was short lived and produced nothing but anger and frustration. I didn't even think about religion from then on until about 8 months ago when my 6 year old daughter started asking me about God. I wasn't sure how to answer her so I gave her a vague description of who and what I thought God was... she asked me more. I talked to a friend of mine who invited us to church (a non-denominational christian church) which we went to for about a month. It just went back to the same old crap as far as I was concerned and I quit going. My little one was not satisfied and she didn't give up...we tried a different church and TA DA she really liked it. I go now as well and I really like it too. It just seems to fit and I feel very "spiritually full" when I leave. I want more. She is getting baptised next month and so am I.
Ok let me repeat that: we are both being baptised next month with a female priest doing the baptism.
Now for anyone who knows me they would also know that I am anti-church all the way and have been preaching that way for many years.
For some reason this church just fits. I Love the Priests, one male and one female, and the congregation is very nice. I feel that I have found a religious home somehow... This is HUGE for me HUGE! I am excited about this new part of my journey and I hope to weave it into the eternal tapestry that is me.
I am still keeping all of my Goddess stuff too though as I don't believe that the Divine Light is male or female, both or neither, it just is, and we are all part of source energy. Part of what has allowed me to mentally participate in this church is the fact that women are equal and are able to participate in the church hierarchy at the highest level. I just feel all warm and fuzzy about church right now and I like it.
Ok enough of my cheer leading. I really just wanted to share my feelings, write it down, reaffirm it within myself. I am happy and blessed and grateful.
Love and light all...
